How to make your Telegram & WhatsApp stickers
Have you seen your friends creating their own set of stickers and using them regularly in group conversations or talking to you? Creating stickers on Telegram & WhatsApp is quite easy. If you have an image, GIF, meme, or any type of picture that you want to create into a sticker, then this article is for you.
Telegram & WhatsApp are the two most popular messaging platforms, and stickers are an important part of communication nowadays. By using stickers you can post instantaneously a really fun image, a meme with a fun comment, and many other fun pics that are made into stickers. In this article, we explain what you need to create your stickers for Telegram & WhatsApp, and how to upload them to the app.
Creating stickers on WhatsApp
Creating stickers on WhatsApp can be relatively easy. At the moment, this is not available for the Android or iOS app, but you can make your stickers by using the WhatsApp web version. To do this, you need to follow these steps:
- Open WhatsApp web on any browser available.
- Follow the steps to log into your WhatsApp account via the WhatsApp web.
- Open any conversation where you want to send the sticker.
- Click the Attachment icon (this is the icon with the drawing of the paperclip on it).
- Select the “Stickers” option.
- Choose from the files on your computer, the image that you want to create a sticker with.
- Add text and effects available with WhatsApp if you want to.
- Click the “Send” button.
That’s it! Creating WhatsApp Stickers is just as easy as that. While there is no official web app to create your stickers or sticker’s pack on this app, you can use the web version to do this.
Creating sticker packs on WhatsApp with an external app
While WhatsApp has not yet released an official app to create your stickers by using your cellphone, this does not mean that there aren’t options available. Here we explain how to create your stickers by using your cellphone, and you only need to download one additional app to your Android phone.
What app do you need to create the stickers?
To create your sticker pack, you need to download an Android app called Wemoji. To download & install this app, you can look it up on your Google Play Store app or click the link. After that, you only need to hit the “Install” button and wait for the app to be installed on your device.
Creating stickers with Wemoji
Creating stickers with Wemoji is extremely easy, and it not only allows you to create and send stickers, but you can also organize them in packs. There are two main options available when you open the Wemoji app: “Create Sticker” and “My Stickers”.
When you hit the Create Stickers button, you will be prompted to create a normal sticker or an animated sticker. This means that you can create stickers by using a regular image or even create an animated sticker by using a video or a GIF.
After hitting any of these two options to create a sticker, you will be asked to look for the image or GIF on your phone’s files. Look for it and select it. After that, you can make a few modifications to the image or the video, before making it into a sticker. When you are done, just hit “Save”, and the app will tell you to choose a “Sticker pack”. If you have no pack available, you can create a new one.
The other main option is “My Stickers”. When you hit this option, you will be able to see the sticker packs that you have already created. You can select any of these packs and reorder the stickers, erase any of them or add new stickers to the pack.
Creating stickers on Telegram
The other great messaging app is Telegram. While creating regular stickers on Telegram is one of the easiest ways to create stickers, there is no possibility yet to create animated stickers, only to use the already created ones. To create stickers on this app, you have to follow these steps:
1. Pick the right image
While creating stickers on Telegram is extremely easy, this app is quite picky on what type and size of the image you can use for your stickers. The app has a regulated standard, for the format of this image. Any image that you want to turn into a sticker, must be 512 x 512 pixels, with a PNG format, and optionally, have a transparent background.
2. Talk to the Telegram Bot to create your sticker
Telegram has an official bot designed to create stickers. To create your stickers, as you might have guessed, you need to look for this bot. You can open a conversation by looking for the bot called “stickers” or just click this link. After talking to the bot, there are several commands that you can use to create your stickers, these are the following:
- /newpack: This will create a new Sticker pack.
- /publish: Publish a sticker pack that you are creating.
- /addsticker: Add a new sticker to an already created pack.
- /delsticker: Remove any sticker that you have already added to a pack.
- /ordersticker: Reorder the stickers of a pack.
- /stats: Ask for statistics on a specific sticker.
- /top: Ask for the top stickers used on your pack.
- /packstats: Ask for statistics about a sticker pack that you created.
- /cancel: Cancel the command you were using.
3. Uploading your stickers
The first thing you need to do to start creating stickers is using the “/newpack” command. Here you will be asked to create a name for your sticker pack. After you have named the sticker, you need to start uploading images to add as stickers, then you will be asked to add an emoji that will be assigned to each sticker that you add to the pack.
To keep on adding stickers, follow the previous steps as many times as you want. When you are done, just use the “/Publish” command, and the bot will create your sticker pack and add it to your stickers.
