How to play mobile games with your PS5 controller

Mobile gaming has been rapidly increasing in the last few years. While mobile games in the past were quite simple but fun, games being developed for Android have acquired more complexity, and some of them are even becoming quite similar to console games.

Nowadays, smartphones have hardware specifications that allow them to easily run some of the best games from previous years. Some game developers are even releasing some games simultaneously for high-performance consoles like PlayStation or Xbox, and mobiles at the same time.

Considering how mobile gaming is evolving, the gameplay has become one issue for mobile gamers. While using a smartphone can be relatively comfortable, it is never the same as using a gamepad controller, and when talking about an Android tablet, the situation is even more uncomfortable.

To solve the comfort problem for gamers, there is a simple solution: Playstation 5 controllers. Yeah, just you read it, we can now plug a Sony’s PS5 DualSense Controller into Android smartphones over a Bluetooth connection or even a USB cable. In this article, we teach you how to do this.

How to connect Sony’s PS5 DualSense Controller to an Android device via Bluetooth

Connecting a DualSense Controller to an Android device is something relatively easy to do. To plug your controller via Bluetooth, just follow these three simple steps:

1.      Disconnect the control from the PS5

It might seem obvious but is a very common mistake that users do not entirely disconnect the control from their consoles before doing this. To do this, just keep pressing the PS Button on your control, until it shuts off, or disconnected from the USB cable if it is connected.

2.      Set the PS5 control on pairing mode

Next, you’ll need to turn the control into pairing mode. To do this, hold the Create and the PS button at the same time. If you did it right, both light bars will blink at the same time. After doing this, you have a maximum of two minutes to pair the control with the Android device, before the control gets out of pairing mode and you have to do this again.

3.      Search the DualSense Controller on your Android’s Bluetooth

Just in case it is not obvious, turn on the Bluetooth on your Android device. After the Bluetooth is on, you need to locate the control like you would any other new Bluetooth device that you are pairing with for the first time. The name for the control should appear like Wireless Controller. If you pair them right, the light bars will blink, and the player indicator will light up, this means you are ready to go.

Connecting the PS5 controller to the Android device is extremely easy, however, there is a small catch, your smartphone needs to have a USB-C port. If this is the case, then do not worry and keep on with the tutorial.

In this case, to connect the controller with the smartphone or tablet, you just need to plug the USB-C ports of each device into the same USB-C cable, and that’s it. If you did it right, the phone will automatically recognize the control and pair with it, allowing you to play your mobile games as if it was a console.
